How to properly choose cartridges for Polaroid?

Як правильно підібрати касети для Polaroid?

The truth is: not all cartridges fit every camera.
But here’s the good news — we’ll help you avoid mistakes.

1. Identify your camera model and cartridge type

Open the cartridge compartment; there will be a sticker with the name of the cartridge you need. If the sticker is missing for some reason, use the model number (usually indicated near the lens or under the cover) as a reference.

✦ SX-70 cameras require SX-70 cartridges.
✦ Polaroid Go is a completely different format, designed for small Go Film cartridges.
✦ Older models, the so-called “600” Polaroid cameras, only shoot with 600 cartridges. They have a battery inside the cartridge, which the camera itself lacks, so they can only work this way.
✦ For newer cameras (like Now, Now+, and others), i-Type cartridges are suitable, as well as 600 cartridges.

2. Choose your frame style

Now that the technical part is clear, pick something that fits your style or mood

Cartridges usually come with these frame options:
✧ Classic white
✧ Black
✧ Colorful — bright and eye-catching, but keep in mind the colors are completely random and can’t be matched to the shot.
✧ Special editions — unique patterns released in limited drops.

3. Pay attention to the number of shots

One Polaroid cartridge usually contains 8 shots, even if the counter shows 10 based on old settings.

4. How to store?

These cartridges are quite sensitive:

✦ store them in the refrigerator (but not the freezer);
✦ take the cartridge out a few hours before use to let it warm to room temperature;
✦ after shooting, protect the freshly printed photo from light for the first few minutes while it develops.
