Polaroid 600 Instructions

Інструкція Polaroid 600
Which cartridges should I use with it?
A classic Polaroid camera with a standard square photo. The camera uses Polaroid 600 film cartridges, which contain the battery inside them.

Important! Previously, cartridges contained 10 shots, so the counter was designed for 10 frames. Now cartridges have 8 shots. When the counter shows 2, it means the shots are finished.

A bit more detail about what you are holding:
1. Electronic flash lamp;
2. Lens;
3. Photo element;
4. Exposure control;
5. Slot for photos;
6. Shutter curtain (protects the photo from light when the image is ejected);
7. Cartridge door;

8. Shutter release button;
9. Shutter release button for shooting without flash;
10. Cartridge door latch;
11. Green indicator (shows flash readiness);
12. Frame counter;
13. Viewfinder;
14. Thumb rest;
15. Neck strap holes;
16. Adjustable hand strap;
17. Oval frame (shows the working position of the close-up lens);
18. Close-up lens lever.

How to insert the cartridge?

Each cartridge contains 8 shots. It also has a built-in battery to power the camera and flash.
The expiration date of the film is indicated on the bottom of each package.

To insert the cartridge into the camera:

  • Slide forward the cartridge door latch — the door will open.
  • Hold the film cartridge by the sides as shown in the picture. Insert it into the camera.
  • Close the door. As soon as the door closes, the protective card will eject from the camera, and the green indicator on the back panel will light up, showing the flash is charged.

Shooting

Make sure the green indicator is lit. If not — gently press and release the shutter button to charge the flash. Then compose your shot through the viewfinder and press the shutter button. The finished photo will eject from the camera, and the flash will recharge.

You can shoot without flash by pressing the corresponding button. You may skip the flash when shooting on a sunny day through a mirror or glass (to avoid glare). In other cases, we recommend using the flash to get quality shots.

If the camera does not work
Check the frame counter. If the cartridge is empty, the flash will charge, but the shutter button will not work.

What to do with the photo?
Hold the photo only by the wide white border. Protect the photo from direct sunlight. Do not shake or bend the photo.

Temperature
If the temperature is below 13°C, make sure the camera and cartridges do not get too cold and are not exposed to direct light for the first few minutes. Immediately after shooting, place the photo in your pocket or another warm place. More detailed information about the development process — is on the cartridge package.

Shooting tips:
1. Always use the flash to get quality shots.
2. Aim the camera lens at the main subject.
3. When shooting, make sure the sun is behind or to the side of you; avoid positions where the sun is overhead.
