Fujifilm SQ10 - the first hybrid Instax camera: takes digital photos and instant square prints!
Fujifilm has announced a new hybrid instant camera, the Instax Square SQ10. The camera brings back the square cult that was once popularized by Polaroid.
The SQ10 is a hybrid camera that can create both instant and digital photos. As an instant camera, the SQ10 is Fujifilm’s first to use the company’s new format, Instax Square Film - 1:1. The photo size is 86×72 mm.
"The SQ10 uses the new INSTAX SQUARE Film format, delivering exceptional image quality with numerous artistic expressions," says Fujifilm. "This new system elevates INSTAX image quality to a new level and allows everyone to add a creative, artistic edge to their photography with an intuitive interface designed specifically for the SQ10."
The SQ10 is also the first Instax camera to feature a built-in digital camera. Photos come out at 1920×1920 pixels in jpg format. The camera’s internal memory can store about 50 shots, and photos can be easily transferred to a computer and the camera cleared via a microSD slot. A single charge of the lithium-ion battery lasts for approximately 160 photos.
The front of the camera has a fixed focal length 28.5 mm lens (35 mm equivalent) with an f/2.4 aperture. The back panel features a 3-inch color LCD screen with a resolution of 460,000 pixels. A standard tripod mount is located underneath the camera.
Once you take a digital photo, you can instantly convert it into an Instax Square image by printing it from the internal memory or from the memory card.
Other features include a minimum focusing distance of 4 inches (10 cm), automatic exposure adjustment, face detection, autofocus, dual shutter system (left and right buttons, dual function buttons), 10 different filters, vignette control, brightness adjustment, real-time preview, and built-in photo editing.
