Lomography has completed its fundraising for a new camera—the Lomo'Instant Automat. As has become tradition, the $100,000 needed to release the camera was raised on Kickstarter within a day. Under the service’s rules, the campaign lasted 30 days, during which the company received 9.2 times more money than planned, raising $919,925 from 5,645 orders!
The Lomo'Instant Automat is a “next-generation” instant camera that combines the best qualities of its older sisters. The speed of Lomography’s first instant photo creation, the Lomo'Instant, and all the creative possibilities of the Lomo'Instant Wide—all packed into a new little camera. Little in the literal sense, because the camera is the same size as Fujifilm Instax Mini film cartridges.
The company will release the first cameras as early as November.
